Tiki Barber Talks

With the Giants making the Super Bowl I’ve read a lot of message board chatter wondering what Tiki Barber must be thinking right now. Some are under the impression that he must be pounding his head against the wall and regretting the decision to retire. The Fifth Down has posted excerpts from his Sirius radio show Tuesday night. Sounds like he’s doing okay with his decision.

On not playing this season:
Ronde Barber: “Are you sad that you’re not playing?”
Tiki Barber: “I’m not, dude. I really am not. It’s interesting because my wife asked me this exact question as we all sat around with some friends sitting in our house watching this game, sitting on the edge [of my seat] just like every other person watching this game because it was a great game. Afterwards, everybody left, Ginny and I are sitting in the room together and she asked, ‘So you have to feel even a little bit of remorse that you left early?’ And I said, ‘Honestly, I’m trying to make myself think that and wish that I was still there but I’m not.’ I was done with football. In my heart I knew I didn’t want to do it anymore. My life, both personally and professionally has taken me a different way.

NFL Conference Championship Games @ BallHype

I’ve been making my game picks over at BallHype. Picks for today are the Patriots and Packers to play in Super Bowl XLII. I think both games are going to be very good. The Chargers have enough on the defensive side of the ball to make Brady and Co. have to work, but that won’t be enough.

If the Giants can get their running game going and keep Favre off the field then they might have a chance. Still like the Packers in this one. Pressure on Eli Manning will be the difference here.

This is how I did last week:
