This is from Henry Shulman, San Francisco Chronicle.  There is something special about a team that can get excited when good things happen and not get down when things aren’t going so well. I’ve said it before, if nothing else this Giants team will give us some kind of an unforgettable season.

Giants Beat Cards For Third Straight Win

The Giants opened their four-game series against the hot Cardinals after consecutive last-at-bat wins over the Padres. There was palpable energy in the crowd both nights.

There was life in the dugout, too. On Wednesday, the cameras caught Tim Lincecum going crazy when Lewis preserved a 0-0 game by throwing out Jim Edmonds at home. In past years, the Giants’ bench seemed more businesslike, a “Yankees dugout,” as one player put it.

That might be changing now that Barry Bonds and some other older players are gone, replaced by younger players.

“That’s the only way you can be when things get off to a rocky start,” Lincecum aid. “You’ve got to get excited at good stuff when it happens.”
