Miami Heat F Michael Beasley

By Frank on November 25th, 2008 at 12:26 pm

Found this in today’s Sporting News Today. Expectations are high for rookies coming into any professional sport, sometimes I think patience would be a better way to go. To say The Heat aren’t thrilled with Michael Beasley might be stretching it a bit. Four years of high school ball, one year in college, and 14 games in the NBA you gotta give the kid a break. Of course if his defense doesn’t come around it’s not like he’ll be the only NBA player that is known for shoddy defensive play.

The Heat aren’t exactly thrilled with the play of F Michael Beasley, and it has put the team in a difficult position. One thing Miami wanted to figure out this year was whether Beasley was a power forward or small forward, because that would guide their approach in free agency next year. But he hasn’t shown the ability to defend either position. Beasley is averaging 14.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 30.1 minutes per game.
