Big ninth inning tonight from the Emeralds. After Jake Opitz put the Hawks ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the 8th with his second home run in as many nights, the Emeralds went on a tear in the top of the 9th inning, using five singles, a double, walk, sac fly, HBP, and a Hawks error to score 6 runs.
After Rob Musgrave gave up the home run to Opitz leading off the 8th, the next three batters went down swinging. Ended the night with 4 Ks in his two innings of work. No home runs for the Em’s tonight, but they did pound out 15 hits.
