Hub Arkush on Brett Favre
Hub Arkush from Pro Football Weekly gives his personal take on the retirement of Brett Favre. It really is a great read. Whatever your feelings are about Brett Favre there is one thing I got from watching him play, and that was the dude always seemed like he was having fun. There are those that will say he lost just as many games as he won because of his gunslinger mentality (and not like it), but for me that is what made him a favorite of mine. And I’m a life-long Oakland Raiders’ fan.
Many a season I would wish Al Davis would pull a stunner and find a way for him to come to Oakland. Wishful thinking is all it was. And probably a little jealousy that the fans in Green Bay got to see him up close and personal for these last 17 year’s. If ever there was a player who came close to being a ‘throwback’ player it was Favre.
It really was a fun ride he gave football fans over the past 17 seasons’.
CommentI am happy for Deanna, Brittany, Breleigh and Brett Favre. Once the dust settles, their lives will be their own and the girls will have their husband and dad all to themselves for the first time in their lives, …
