Jonathan Stewart, Combine Transcript

NFL Draft Scout has the Jonathan Stewart combine transcript posted. Some really good comments from Stewart. At least we know he’s going to run the forty and do the bench press but said he has to talk with his agent if he’ll do any of the other drills.

When asked about his 40 time, “I don’t really want to put it out there, but a low 4.4.” Talk about money in the bank if can burn off one of the top times this weekend.

Had this to say about being a big back and with a lot speed. So many things can happen at the next level, but wouldn’t it be great if Stewart is the one RB that has the kick ass rookie season.

“I would describe it as pretty rare. You don’t really see a player my size at this position being able to do the things I can do. I’m explosive. I have good lateral movement as well. I have great speed as well. Put those things together and it can be something great.”

Gave props to Jeremiah Johnson when he was asked about sharing carries at the next level. Something that we may see him do, depending on where he goes. Of course I just saw a report that said something about Shaun Alexander possibly being released…hmmmm not a bad situation if he ends up there.

“I think it’s great, actually. It keeps both running backs that much more available to the team. Me and Jeremiah Johnson – my backup running back at Oregon – we had the same kind of concept, the ultimate duo back there. It worked out. It’s a great opportunity for both running backs to succeed and for the team to succeed.”
