They gotta be excited in Detroit. Being able to lineup WRs Charles Rogers, Roy Williams and Mike Williams is going to cause teams fits this season. Now it will be up to QB Joey Harrington to settle in and pick his poison.
Jacksonville Jaguars No.1 draft pick Matt Jones sat out the second half of the Friday afternoon practice after he “tweaked” his hamstring. Buccaneers HC Jon Gruden likes the energy level and attention to detail from his new Buccaneers. And he is ready to see how his new “Cadillac” is going to handle, RB Carnell Williams. In Cleveland, the future is in QB Charlie Frye and WR Braylon Edwards.
Do you think he is happy he has a receiver? On Ravens first round pick, WR Mark Clayton, “The suddenness that we talk about, the quickness, the great hands, the presence, the cuts in and out of those routes was everything as advertised,†said Brian Billick. Packers first-round pick QB Aaron Rodgers takes some snaps and holds for PK Ryan Longwell.

After almost four months of speculation, rumors and mock drafts galore, the 2005 NFL Draft is now complete. We have our #1 selection, QB Alex Smith, 49ers, along with Mr. Irrelevant (last pick @ #255), in TE Andy Stokes selected by New England (if he doesn’t make the team, he still gets a very cool week in Orange County). And 253 other players that will try to make a difference for their teams. Of course we can’t forget about the free agent signing frenzy that teams will go on for the undrafted players. Like Safety Ernest Shazor out of Michigan. All-American first-team I might add. Didn’t think the draft was THAT deep. Now we begin the grading period for each of the 32 teams and their well thought out draft plans. Even when they can’t keep them secret. The NFL landscape is littered with can’t-miss first day selections, that did, and players drafted in the later rounds that made it.
Kudos for Denver taking RB Maurice Clarett (3rd round, 101 overall) at the end of day one. The draft is all about taking chances on some players. DT Luis Castillo drafted by San Diego in the first round is willing to return his signing bonus if he ever tests positive for steroirds again. At the combine in February, Castillo tested positive for androstenedione.

Saturday 23 April–I’ll be updating as picks are made today. My pick is the first listed, then actual pick made.
Time for me to put up my mock draft. It really is going to be an interesting day come Saturday. You get the feeling that there will be a lot of wheeling and dealing once the draft starts. San Francisco has been doing a great job in keeping from everyone what their intentions are. I know they would love to get a deal like San Diego made last year, but I believe they should just draft QB Aaron Rodgers, get him into camp and move on. Some surprises I’m sure, but looking over my picks most of them seem to be good fits for each of the teams. I’m really looking forward to seeing where LB Derrick Johnson goes and also QB/WR/TE Matt Jones.

Close but no cigar! Ended up in second place in my Yahoo NBA fantasy league. I play in one league each year and this season I took it all the way to the end, but Blue Marlin had the team to beat all season. They finished the regular season in first place (120-64-5 .648), 3.5 games ahead of my team (118-69-2 .630)
Hate losing in the finals, especially since I had to watch as Mike Bibby and Tracy McGrady both rode the pine on Wednesday night.

This was my roster for the finals.
